House: season one

My roomate went out and recently bought the 'house' first season on dvd. For the past of the show, i've seen like 1 and half episodes, a lot of my friends really liked it, but i never got into it too much. so he got it, and has been secretly watching the season on his laptop at nite, not sharing the welath.

anways, so he is gone for the weekend, i take this opportunity to steal the dvd's and watch them this weekend. wonderful.

so there's a doctor with a bum leg that walks with a cane, who is a freakn genius. i guess you could say the 'matlock' of the hospital world, but extremely more sarcastic and rude and does not care what you thiink at all.
Thats why i respect and like dr. house so much, he is bordering on insanity and he loves it, he doesn't care if he pisses you off, he comes with the hard facts and owns you.

he has three other doctors that are under him, a black doctor, an australian doctor , and a babe doctor. she's cute. that's why she's around, says house. The three of them react and converse super super well and create many fun situations and arguments. great team otherwise.

moving on, his boss lady is always playing house's game and they try to one up each other in their 'game', she eventually makes him do his clinic duty's that he put off for some many years, which is just walk in cases , he solves them in like 30 secs everytime, and they are always really funny.

The episodes are completely repetitive after awhile, and i love it, if it's not broke dont fix it.
each episode has a different abnormal case that seems impossible, but i read that some of the cases are pretty much true, just not that dramatic. still for tv magic it's convincing most of hte time. not a problem for the viewer.
The first season is great cause it also looks into the past of dr. house's leg, his divorce and bitterness and battle with the addictioin of the pain medicine for his leg. they don[t make cool tv shows like this that much with this kind of magic. poor pple turn to lost and all those gay shows, it's just sad.

do yourself a favor and rent this or buy it, it's worth it, or steal it from your roomate when's he's out for the weekend.

everybody lies

Batman Beyond:

I bought the first season of the batman beyond series a few months ago. I was in love with it when it came out when i was younger. its more futuristic, and really captures the levels of what high school would be if you were batman, i believe. plus the suit would be really fun too.

going back to the first season, the animation is decent, it appeared alot better back in the day. it's hard to go up against the original batman superman adventures when they came out, that animation is just cool for american. mabye the only problem wiht batman beyond would be it's awkwardness of bad guys, some fit well and others feel like they were running out of ideas or trying to hard. but it's fun watching them run all over a future gothem. The love affairs and friendships 'terry' (the new batman) makes is really good to develope. especially in the later season, things really pick up with his gf, and his other babe he likes from the cards group.

Plus being able to fly , to the new airshp bat thing, works out well in terms of manuerability. even though the original airship was jsut fine. i like the whole aspect with how wayne enterprises is trying to be taken over by the new boys rather then bruce wayne. his company is slowly being corrupted, and wayne is getting old and loosing power, but still has respect and dignity. that side of the season is good to see as well.

With the original batman coming to accept the fact he is getting too old is somewhat painful, because i was like man, i feel for ya dude. but sometimes you just gotta know your limit.
alot of times i get the seasons mixed up, but the first season is relitively short, like 13 eps, that's a small season. anways the second season is already out, and i totally forgot if therer was even a third season approaching, i'll have to check if there's a release date or not. i wouldnt suggest buying it unless your sold on this series, like me, if not, ask me to borrow it, i'm always happy to find a batman beyond fan.

oh yeah...batman owns superman any day, no competition, period.

DOT HACK GU

Welcome to the World.....

this game has a fun history with me. the sense and logic of the gameplay seems absurd. the whole concept is to imitate an actual mmorpg except its not actually online with other players to interact. honestly it sounds so stupid. especially since you can just go out and buy a real mmorpg...atleast that's what i thought.

There were four original games b4 GU that came out a while back. that's how it all started...

the addiction, dot hack slowly began to take over my life, i couldn't explain it. meeting pple in the game was exactely how it was online, just better. you get a desktop in the game, you have email, to chat with etc..., then you get desktop pics, music to go along with it, you can go on forums and read posts and internet sites. its like a whole diff. world. I was compltely sucked in.

the another aspect that gets me, (because i love cyberpunk stuff) is that the internet game is bugged and slowly, there are abnomilies taking place like hacking and cool stuff like that, which is unexplainable to the gamers playing the game. if this hack or virus gets you in a form of something, in real llife you are sucked into a coma which cannot be solved medical yet, so you are a vegeatable. that sparks my fancy. and i love it, playing the hero, and solving the hacks yo. guys love being the hero. anyway. i haven't even beaten the second game, because all the four first games should have been summed up in one game, but they spread it out, this was a super bad move. but i still pay and buy the games because of the cool storyline and gameplay.

but now onto GU , the new game. the grapics are now updated to a more slicker looking cel shaded graphics. it took a while to get used too, but it's decent, and doesn't distract the game play with the new shift in style, i really like cell shaded anyway.

in this game you can actually visit the forums, and go online to watch news movies which is really fun for interaction. then the new features allow you to join a guild and become an owner and leader of one. you get the ablility to to a job adaption to for your online character to make him upgrade armor and weapons , which is cool. There's also a battle arena town to where you challenge other groups to duke it out. it's great. and addictive. the main character in this game isn't as cool as 'kite' in the other games, but he works. the other characters i found to be annoying and i didn't care for them, but you can find a few to hang out with, it's not that bad. the only problem is there's a guild member that is so annoying and always being a crybaby and won't grow up, i wish i could shoot him in the face. other than that nobody is really that unstandable. the voice overs are very good too., top notch, you get to hear vash's voice again too.

the music is a little better then decent. not as good as the first game, but fine.

i highly reccomend this game if you're a loser and dont care plus i'm a huge fan of the dude who drew the first char.s for the game, the man who did the evangelion manga. he's great. , i didn't stop playing for two days straight, but the downside is it's shortness, i beat it in about 19 hours, but if you wanna do all the quests and missions and new stuff, i've talked to pple that play for about 60 hours or so, it's fun. don't miss it. i wanna find out more about shino anyway. look out for the next two games coming out later prob. next year for the rest of the series.

Love Actually:

I didn't like this movie at first, but then it slowly grew on me. It follows a few love relationships around the christmas cheer time. It has keira knightly, but shes plays a small role. the movie kinda makes you wish you could see more of the characters you want too, and then flips you upside to follow someone else you don't wanna see (run on sent.) then makes you feel for the current episode then rips you away again. i hated it, but it works, and when you get into the groove it makes it really fun to bounce around.

I'm not gonna name all the characters and situations , but i'll try what i remember off the top of my head: there's a boss dude that has a secretary who really wants him bad, and the problem is the boss is married and contimplating the affair and such like.

The next episode is about a chick and a black dude getting married, the black dude's best friend is secretly in love with the babe. talk about fun. He films the wedding for the video but only tapes her. She catches the film and is awstruck. mabyes theres still a little interest too. he goes down still in love with her. it's realy cool, even though he knows she can't love him back.

The next episode is about a little boy and his father, they recently just lost their mom, and the little boy is in love with a little girl, who doesn't even know he exists. he wants to win her love and such. the father realizes this and does all he can to help the son find true love. their realtionship is nice, they both work together, and the kid is like a little adult, if i was a little girl, i'd tap that.

the next episode is about a author dude writing a story in england or so. his maid is caught having an affair, so he gets a new one, who cant' speak english. they really like each other, and say it, but both have no clue what the other is saying, but are actually saying the exact same thing. she leaves back home, but he goes after her and they marry later on.

the last relationship is between a secretary chick house thing. with the prime minister of england. who is very good looking. blue eyes. all fun. anyway he's having trouble being mr. cool with her and stuff like that. i just remembered theres this old rock star guy re writing one of his old classic hits for a christmas jingle. he hates it, he is fed up with the being correct and not honest about the music. he starts telling it how it is. it's hilarious, this man, would be easy to marry. his manager is fat. they hug at the end for a christmas joy occation. it's really good. he plays a show naked. good body for an old man.

all in all, definately worth the rental, more slightly sided to a chick flick, but it's pretty good. especially since it's so close to christmas.

look it's ms. knightley

Video game system preference opinion:
(this has no order or purpose, just rants)
In class we reviewed the 3 next gen consoles. xbox 360, nintendo's wii, and ps3. my opinion, it pretty much just depends on what gamer you are and what you think is cool. if you like hot graphics, go with the 360 or ps3, dont look to the wii. People are saying the wii is brining a different viewpoint and angle to games, mabye so. it all depends on how they use it, but then also what kind of gamer you are. Personally, if the wii is shooting for more family orientated games, fine, but you won't catch me with that playing with my mom. sounds embarassing. mabye with michael jackson though. I've seen the new zelda being played by my friends, and the way they incoporate the controller seems tedious and annoying. it has sound effx imit from the controller. which is crappy sound quality at that. but if your looking for fun and a party possible, this might be the best bet. after failing horribly from the last system, it seemed like they only had the nintendo fanboys supporting. my opinion of good games that his from the gamecube was, resident evil 4 and metroid prime, and lagging in the back the super smash bros.

next you move to the 360 and the ps3, the big dogs duking it out again. also, going back to what kind of gamer you are is impertenant. whatever that means. i'm a big rpg fan, therefore i've been loyal to the playstation and the gameboy system for their emphasis on rpg's and being a good mainstream for imports from japan, etc.. There has been talk of possible final fantasy on the 360, so who knows, but with how 12 turned out, i woudln't really care. 13 looks a ton better though. but if it stays true to their system i would slide toward the ps3 still. the ps2 isn't even close to being dead yet, their still pumping out good games when the next gen competition is taking place. that's how good it is still. also, graphics is not a big deal to me at all. i'd honestly rather play a 2d game rather a 3d. unless is has pyschadelic lights that can give you epilepsy. i wouldn't mind. the wii seems less mature in terms of adult games. i'm not for the blood factor, but i am for the mature storyline with its additions, language, drinking, suggestive themes, etc.. I don't wanna have a kiddy storyline that are afraid to show some death or changing the translation so it won't offend.

the 360 is going to attempt to hit the japanese market better, therefore supporting better rpg's in the future. hopefully this will be promising. but it still looks like the ps3 will host the more rpg orientated, but who knows, especially with how the rpg factor core units are going downhill besides graphical quality, which is not my concern. shake that, seriously working designs is out of business, is there hope? beats me.
Paradiso: friday nite movie

The setting was a small town in italy with a town square showcasing a small theatre. This theatre proved to be the life of the town and the only thing that brought happiness. There was a little boy, which went by the name Toto, which the storyline revolves around. His family is himself, his mother, and his younger sister. His father went off to war. The boy always asks when his father will return. It is apparent that the father did not make it thru the war, but the mother will not come to this conclusion and shuns it from her mind completely. Toto has a fascination with the theatre and movies. He hides in the theatre to attempt to steal little editted film reel pieces. He collects these and has a bucket at home; each nite he returns from the theatre and pulls out his bucket. He then holds them to candle light to read them and quote each line of that scene. There is a man that runs the film reel machine which toto is infactuated with, who he wants to befriend and believe in. He serves as a father figure later on when he takes him under his wing. He begins to learn the trade of the film reel works. He begins to grow and find love, live life, move on, become a director and writer of films itself, etc....

What i found to be a wonder of the movie, its magic encompasses the effect of watching people watch a movie. It showcases their reactions, emotions, and the magic. It actually does well, because the idea of it sounds kinda dumb at first, but suprisingly pulls it off. This isn't my type of movie, but the magic was definately there. Another aspect i enjoyed was the randomness. people would just appear out of no where and shout out weird stuff. It kept you awake, when you thought it was just about to get dull. Next thing you know itd be casual, then a sex scene. It's a foreign film, but there was some real hilarious scenes of sexuality. little boys reactions to a naked babe on the screen was classic.

The flm actually starts from the point in totos life where he is well off and old.
This techinique works out fine, because at the end it picks up where it left off. Two lovers finding a nite of love and passion which they never had. truth and promises come out. etc...
it was an odd ending, somewhat long movie. not too bad. it was me and zane in a dark room for three hours. we laughed alot.

STRANGER THAN FICTION:

I went and saw this film with a good friend on thanksgiving break, and was pleasantly surprised; because i was expecting little depth, and somewhat of a comedy considering it was will ferrel somewhat 'serious' role for once. When it was over i walked out satisfied but with a wierd taste in my mouth in all. Another reason why i liked it so much was Maggie Gyllenhaal, the lovely actress from donnie darko, donnie's older sister. what a babe , right?

The main character that Will plays is named "harold crick". Harold Crick is the main character of a novel that is being written at the exact same time. The author is currently having writer's block on how to kill Harold. The Narrarators voice can be heard in the real harold's head during the day. When he realizes he is going to die and what is happening he begins to search madly to find the 'narrarator'. It's a fun adventure, but somehow seems to stall in the middle end. i believe.

Though thrown in as a comedy drama fiction, the comedy side borrows heavily with will's previously acting from anchorman to taledaga. His crooked teeth are still there too. don't worry.

Character wise, it's really good. someone i found odd to be in the film was queen latifah, or however you spell her name, was in this film. a very small role of the secretary for the narrarator. she felt like she stuck out like a sore thumb. Will was good. and all the other cast of smaller known mainstream fame worked amazingly well together.

The music of the film was just average, notihng memorable. so don't waste your money on the soundtrack at all.
One aspect that was really super cool of the film that ran like a thread was the fact that harold was an accountant. With this known fact, little numbers and weird animations would take place counting everything seen by the eye. They would be organized like an accountants mind would be done so. It was very clever.

Another character that was cool was harold's watch. It had a mind of its own and would act up. by the end of the film, the watch is what saves his life.

The romance is decent, but has a nice personality. both actors work well off each other, and i got a big kirsten dunce vibe off of maggie's character. after taking a while to add up, it hits right off with little inbetween. he plays a song on the guitar, they make out and shake it. cute.

Overall, its a good movie, way better then i had my expectation. thats always a good thing. but the ending end for the novel that was said to be so perfect, diddn't seem perfect at all to me, so i don't thnk i will buy the dvd when it comes out, but the despite the flaws its worth a rent definately. now talk some more accountant tax stuff , its a turn on.

OKAMI: for the ps2

Got this game when it first got out, i'm a sucker for the japanese samurai era. so how can you say no to being a wolf god in that time. What really stuck out is the art style, the only style that can come close to this is 'viewtiful joe', which i dont' intend to play.

Basically, the land was tormented by a terrible dark god, but this 'god' is challenged by a wolf god, and a loser warrior. they win, he is banished and trapped in a cave or whatever. didn't really pay attention. anyway history repeats itself, duh. so some idiot unleashes the beast again, and now the forces call forth the wolf gods reincarnate as another wolf god. who cares, wolves looks cool. do it. This game is aimed for kids, especially the humour and violence. it kinda put a damper on it. but i overlooked for over half the game, then i got sick of it, and turned it in for credit.

The art is amazing in this game, they use somewhat of waterbrush technique with cel shading art. the results is crazy. lush environments that move like it's real. you get to run around rapidly with a double jump, it feels like your flying on the clouds. great experience.

There's a bunch of parts where you have to restore the rotten land that is eroding with evil into beautiful gay flowers. Those movies are sick. All these flowers and rainbows fly up everywhere, i'm not gay, but that's how it's potrayed alot in media. and i can still say , this the good stuff.

Another cool aspect of the game is the use of the water brush literally. it freezes the screen and gives you the ablility to paint with ink. this serves as your attack and special abilities, may it be controlling water or drawing a sword slash. fun stuff, the only violence is slicing the bad dudes in half. no blood though, safe fo yo kid. The battle sequences flow great with the real world time. you jump into an enemy and it flawlessly with no load, throws you into battle, it's how games should be. the game is also pretty easy, no hard level.

This game isn't gonna make a huge dent in video game history, but the art will. Never before has a game looked this lush or used this type of style to its advantage. check out some vids on ign.com or something. get a preview, because the game alone is worth it for the art for once. oh and you can't swim. he's a wolf, i don't get it, so you can draw lily pads to jump to them, fun.

i guess, the only objectible part of the game for kids is this one leaf goddess chick, her boobs bounce a ton, and i have no clue why that is in there, for such a kid game. be aware thats all. i got rid of it, because i got bored, it's worth a rent.

Music Videos: i missed this class where we watched some of the vids, and i dont' know what take or opinions that were expressed during it, but here's my opinion, and blog.

kk, starting off, lets shoot up a definition: A music video is a short film or video that accompanies a complete piece of music, most commonly a song. Modern music videos are primarily made and used as a marketing device intended to promote the sale of music recordings. Although the origins of music videos go back much further, they came into their own in the 1980s, when MTV (Music Television)'s format was based around them.

There we have it: The industry i feel is really really dissapointing, especially for the main stream bands, not even sure if they get a say in the matter of how the music video portrays or even works. Also, with the mainstream, there's a ton of artists who don't even make their own music or lyrics, they get a little input or whatever, it's all about fame and money in that part. Whatever will get the little mtv teeny boppers to go 'that's so hot'. What's also pathetic is when they have a band that's actually good for an interview on mtv to show their debut music video and they don't even know anything about the band, and make many mistakes. come on, it's television.

Some more background is alot of times the label picks out the singles on the record, rather then the artist having a say in the matter, therefore, they can be thrown into making a video they dont' wanna portray as the band's 'this is how we sound or want to show you who we really are' type.

let's skip around and try not to have a point while talking about this. ok. sex is fun. it's doing awesome in the music video part as well as movies. let's dance with barely any clothes on. it's gets the pple watching. this is a given in a ton of music videos. but that doesn't mean we should dismiss some of them, there's a bunch out there that actually have some merit and freakn cool ideas for 'art' if you will. let's get krunk g unit.

art keeps changing, there's always room for new ideas, but there in the mediums with music videos, theres a bunch that have been done, that don't see the light of day. thank you al gore , for the internet, that is. Radiohead although not a big fan, have some cool 2d animation vids. 3d's with the cool little blue and red glasses, then computer animation is all over the boards. With the effx department advancing with technology, who knows what's gonna be next, but it'll be a ball yo.

but it's a real treat when the artist themselves actually take part or even just create the movie. this is when you actually get to peer into the artists head. or what they want you to believe or evoke out of the song. gotta love those.

ending, i'm not gonna throw out a bunch of music videos that i think are cool, because alot of times i feel they really screwed em up or didn't potray the song at all, i'm not saying that you don't need art in videos. cause alot of todays music vids are just the band playing, which is a sad waste for such beautful songs coming out. sometimes too, the song can make the video good, sometimes, the video can make the song, it's just interesting how it plays out like that sometimes. oh yeah, this never made a point or reached it. so dont' worry about it.

FINAL FATASY 12: Look at me, i have pretty graphics and a pretend intricate political storyline that has empty fun...come on kids.

(played about 6 hours in the game, so this just a preview review, which i will never do a real review)

Ok, lets get this puppy poppin' I didn't have high expectations for the game. They've been delaying it for like two years, but i pre ordered it anyway, heck the battle system looked fun, especially from the demo they let us have with dragon warrior 8. I got home, put it in, and sat back and was ready for a real adventure (cause there's been a lack of good rpgs lately).

Graphics: probably some of the best on the ps2, a decent bump up from x-2. It's just that the ps2 can only go so far, and once you hit that point, you just gotta work with what you got. The in game characters have good detail, nice hair blowing inthe wind etc... The movie are pre rendered like always, but this time they are so good, it's like they lost something inside them. like they don't have a soul anymore.

Atmosphere: Okay, the main pple doing this was the main men of the psx final fantasy tactics. I found the atmosphere to be a dead on accurate with the characters especially from 'final fantasy tactics advance' from the gba. The character races are the same from both games as well. it's just odd seeing little rabbits as 'moogles'. Right off the bat, after the first couple of medieval kingdom, knights and stuff. but then the game feels like they took phantom menace from star ep 1: the planet and that kingdom from where natalie portman was in charge of (honestly i dont' remember or care because those movies are a disrepect to all star wars and dont' diserve the right of that title). Then take that world and mix it together with the Disney movie 'Aladdin'. The main town and deserts just makes you feel like you have a monkey as your pal and the stupid pple are about to bust out into song. Don't get me wrong, the towns and areas are vast and fun to look at, but theres just too much comparison with the fact is it just feels gay.

Storyline: not much has developed but it seems pretty predictable. kingdoms battling, men in power , crime and treason, a rebellion and revolution undertaking at hand, not much of a love story. With how many characters there are is seems to spread kinda thin. but since i've only played a few hours, this doesn't have any merit, but the politcal complexity pple are bragging about, is so overrated. it feels like shakespeare, which is overrated. yes, overrated, i said it.

Characters: This is where i feel like squre enix is fallen off the deep end. This time the characters are even more less personal. I couldn't connect with any of them, mabye the sky pirate and his chick, or the rebellion chick. but the main characer makes you wanna vomit. i'm fine with characters not being cool, but this guy is just annoying. he reminds me of ff9's main characters, except without the tail. put that with aladdin, you got the main teenager dude, 'va'an'. he lost his brother to an odd conspiracy off the battle with the kingdoms. oh joy. feel sorry for him, he's confused. The other characters didn't develope, which is fine, because 6 hours in is barely even touching the story. Everybody has their way to relate, and mabye todays younger teens can totally relate with the cast of characters, i just wish i could do the same.

Music: alright, we all know we had to say goodbye to nobuo uematsu. the main dude who popped out the best soundtracks in video game history arguably. im pretty sure the only thing he made on this game was the main theme. but he's busy doing his own this with his band, and his own stuff now. farewell buddy. enter, Hitoshi Sakimoto! he's worked on various titles like ff tactics, stella deus, and vagrant story, and now ff 12 under his belt. So hes definately not brand new to the industry. However, i don't know if the advisors wanted him to play it safe or what, because of the tracks i've heard, cause there's a ton, are very ff generic. nothign pushing, or taking away, playing it completely safe. there's a few tracks that stick out, but the rest just fall into ,"hey try to copy uematsu's old stuff dude'', it's sad. but this is his first with a the final fantasy rpg that's not a tactical genre. so we'll see if he stays and continues to branch out as a main artist in the next ff's. hey it's hard to come in and do something under the shadow of the best in japan. good luck to em, i'd just like to see his true colors soon in music.

Overall: i'm not evening gonna waste my breathe or time on this game, the characters are shallow, the graphics are a sad excuse for a suck fest storyline. give us back the 2d games where storyline is the reason you play and graphics didn't matter. i'm still a kid, and i feel like i'm out growing these games, what's going on?? Go pick up ff4, ff5, and the soon ff6 advance for the gba, thats where the real stuff is at in today's world. FF 13 has way cooler character btw, very much the designs borrowing from final fantasy: advent children. will just see if the games keep going down hill.

(eye candy anyone? she looks better the yuna, and the ff pple never fail in the babe department or the dudes either, but it's not enough to save, the japanese are perverts. nice mini skirt hooker)

Innocence is a movie that explores inanimate objects and representative forms as artificial life.
Released in Japan on March 6, 2004, with a U.S. release on September 17, 2004, Innocence had a production budget of approximately $20 million (approx. 2 billion yen).

i'll try not to reveal the storyline too much.....

Yeah, i know this has been out for forever, i saw it when it first came out.

First Impression: downright hated it. loved the first movie, but without the Major(her actual body and whole presence) it was just hard to feel comfortable. also what did not help was the fact that Batou is the main character, and i strongly dislike him. the only thing that we have in common, is that he digs the major, and likes dogs, it's name is Gabriel, a cute hound. And only having the Major make a small appearance in a inanimate robot chick was not my idea of cool , but whatever. The story and issues they tackle is again info heavy and confusing, that's what i love about the series and movies. We mentioned in class the awkwardness of robots becoming and having the appearance of humans. there are alot of hints and notions to this issue, it can be down right creepy, it's just that good. But after me and friends watched it, it first came out with just original jap. voice, and eng. subs, they all hated it, and i was just dissapointed.

The secondary character is togusa. he's the only full human, out of section 9. It's good to see him again, but this time he is hooked up with Batou as a partner, its not a bad combo, for conversation and atmosphere. He looks good though.

I had alot of mixed feelings after the first time, so i went back and soaked it up some more. went back again and basked in it's light, then dove right in.

Okay, i'm pretty sure this is my 20th time watching this movie, and i dont' wanna say it's an aquired taste or i wanna say i like it cause no body did where i lived to be different, but i'm in love with this movie, partly because i still dont' understand all the issues, and i love the art and atmosphere they use. I still wouldn't call this a ghost in shell movie 2 though, it's more like here's a movie centered around batou, a side plot movie. Alright, all things aside now: They incorporate 3d into 2d, and they do it pretty darn good. well best i've seen in a while for adding it in. Some stuff stands out, but then other times it just looks gorgeous. They just animate little things in the background, that just shows they put some fun thought in.

The music has the standard, japanese choir whining, which wasn't too bad in the first movie, however in this one, they beat it to death, to where it's almost downright annoying. It's super high pitched this time too, and at 3 in the morning, your just like, please stop, my ears can't take it,, but there are some good tracks still in the movie, theres even a good choir one too, believe it or not, i dont' recommend buying the soundtrack, unless your dead sold out. They have some good sound effx too.

The philosophies they present are really good, i enjoy them alot, but i wont' go into detail, just check it out for yourself. have an open mind. Just throwing it out there, wanna know your thoughts since nobody really reads these things anyway. cause the movie is controversially. mabye love it or hate it, not sure, but i really love it alot. if you've seen it, id say give it another shot, if your cyberpunk fan. it even has a couple cool action scenes for violence lovers.

They have a third movie called, like solid state society, thats not out in the states yet. but it this movie follows the series from the tv shows. It looks great so far from the previews. look out for that, when it hits shores.

TRINITY BLOOD: DVD 01

Adult Swim has been recently airing for awhile the "Trinity Blood" anime series. I haven't had time to see it on adult swim, so i went ahead and bought the first dvd for the heck of it. Some of my friends that watch it say it's BA g unit. So to see what the hype was all about, I listened blindly without doing any research. who doesn't like a surprise? i do, but not when it sucks. So before i go into the fun stuff, it's obvious i did not like the first 4 eps on the first dvd. This is a bent, broken review.

Right off the bat, you are introduced to Abel Nightroad (codename: Crusnik). and from instant, first impression, this dude echoed a "Vash" wannabe from Trigun. He is super super nice, and absent minded, almost to a point of silly, pretty much like Vash reacts and even talks as well. That kinda got on my nerves, cause vash is such a cool character idea. But hey, there's a billion of anime wannabe's and look a likes, why not add another one? You somewhat connect with Abel throughtout the four episodes in the beginning, but it doesn'tn really feel like you get anywhere with the series. You find a few secrets out, and get a small glimpse of what kind of system of their present world.

Their world, is somewhat futuristic, the Vatican church, is again in power, as well as military power as well. To have some examples, it goes from airships, to super coms, but they still use coins and money. fyi. Anyway, this 'vatican' seems to give off the effect it did back in the past, with being all powerful and a little abusive with it. There is also robots with human form as well. Their pretty emotionless too.

The background plot purpose seems to follow as: there are vampires feeding off humans, and the vatican and their AX agents, like "Abel" are used to kill the vampires. However, Abel is not just a humble catholic priest who touches little boys, which he appears to be and travel as, minus the little boys part. He is actually a "Crusnik". this is a super power vampire, that feeds off vampires. kinda gay, but it's not so bad as it seems for the story. He transforms into it by pronounces some percentile and power output, leading on that he isn't even using his full potential in the first episodes. Anyway, he feeds off the vampires blood, like vampires feed off humans, i have not found out if he is dependent on vampire blood yet. Also ,since Abel is a priest, he is super super poor, and always hungry, hence stomach growl. cliche.

These four episodes, have good character designs, well done flow of motion, and decent cg mixed with 2d. i find a lot of cg mixed with the new anime recently, very annoying, but with the way the industry is going, it cannot be helped. What i found odd about the episodes, was that the girl you get introduced too is left at the end. You figure once you finally connect that she would travel with abel, but guess not.

The music in this series so far, was so so, to decent. There is one track that seemed fairly well off, but what was gay, was that they used it about 4 times, within the 3 eps. that always makes me mad when pple re use the same track unless its for effect or for remembering a past event. but they just throw these out there for no reason. cheap. But the voice acting so far, is done pretty well though.

Overall: i didn't like the series too much, as of this far. but that's not saying much for just four episodes, it might just be a sleeper. getting a slow start. It just seems like today, all you need is good graphics and an average storyline to slap together a series now a days. My advice, watch it on tv, dont' buy it yet. waste o money. it might still have something. oh there's blood too, if you like that.

(+44) album is hitting stores on tuesday, november the 14th. if you haven't already downloaded the leak yet. go out and support the band and buy it, it's worth it. i'm not gonna talk it up, they are humble, and thats what you get, a humble rock cd thats rad.

"Borat": the movie
(probably some spoilers)

just saw the movie this weekend, and was pretty satisfied for the results. It's pretty much about the dude doing a documentary of the US. for his pple where he resides. In the process he pisses people off, scares em, becomes a wigger, learns proper manners, finds out pamela anderson is the chick from baywatch. He falls in love for the first time, im sure. A journey of endurance, friendship, and misunderstandings.

The movie was well done, some of the scenes had to have been staged, while others were not at all. Apparently, somebody i watched it with, said he got the cops called on him about 92 times. not too shabby my friend. He's cute, i'll give him that. What really gets me is how he acts so serious and real without busting a smile or laughing. I could never do that without laughing atleast. Alot of times you would see the difference in the quality of the camera, for effect or they actually had to use secret cameras to get the reactions of people. I dunno if the borat dude comes up with the ideas, or just adlibs mabye a mix. but this dudes a real genius. He sure knew how to make the americans look like an idiot. (no reference to the greenday song, they suck anyways)

This is not the first time this guy actually has done stuff like this, he has a series he hosts called "Ali G". In this tv show, he changes into three different characters, my favorite being the wigger. He'll interview people from real senators or f.b.i agents for issues that are brought up in today's culture. He's super super clever in some of his remarks, and he's excellant at confusing and annoying his 'victims'. If you ever get a chance, go to some movie store, and get the ali g season on dvd. its a good background picture for a party at an ice cream social. Also remember, true love is only found in fat black 1-800 number prostitutes.

William Kentridge: I liked this method of charcoal usage. One the key methods that stuck out to me the most was the fact that he didn't erase the motions of the characters, he left the extra charcoal lines there. It gave a cool effect. then for models he would use his own body, talk about hot. The short film with the idea of cats and trolly's was a sweet idea. The lasers would use the cats as electricity and such. The lasers being blue really helped bring out everything in that film as well.

Having the split screen agenda really brought the film to life too. They would interact with each other like when the one business guy was typing up info and then the guy on the right would type some stuff up and then the first guy would reach across the screen and steal the info. I thought that was oh so fun.

Another aspect of the of his collective works that i admire is the fact that he does not know the whole story when he is creating the images. I like creating stuff that way, i mean you might not have a end in mind but getting there is the fun part. plus its like what we were talkn about in class. you don't have to purposely put some deeper meanings in the film, what you are about will shine through in some odd way thru the film. i can see where that point is coming from. Stereoscope.

We watched a computer animated video on class last thursday, i kinda forgot what it was called, i wanna say 'ryan' or something simple of that name area. but i really liked how the mental state was presented thru colored strings strangling their heads. The beginning part where he was discussing himself before the interview where it went inside his head was pretty good. It dove into his head with all these electronic sparks and weird noises. That effect really helped the atmosphere. Especially when it sucked out and he was like whatever, that's another story yo. These kind of movies are out there if you look for them. but i dont' really look for them. so i was pretty amazed at what kind of stuff the animation artists are doing with this type of material, cause now a days you just see a bunch of 3d animated movies or cel shaded junk. it's art, but i havent seen it used this way. take for example, the remake 'appleseed', in my opinion was a flop, the opening scene was okay, cel shaded graphics look cool, no doubt about it, but the movie adaption to the original anime and manga, was just beat down to death with the graphics and motion. i'd really like to know what other kind of material like this are out there. if anybody knew some links drop me some. it would be greatly appreciated.

Mr. Co Hoedeman:

what a cute fella, just doing the things he loves. From the films we screened at the MCA on friday nite, i wasn't really expecting anything, that way i wouldn't get my little heart broken. I got respect for the dude, some of his stuff was pretty out there i guess. He did some stuff with sand, snow(i guess it was snow or something that looked a ton like it), puppets, bears, and paper sculpture mold junk,(no clue). He really knows how to hook the film up with music that fits, definately in the sound effx department too. There was a film he made called something like "block dragon" no clue what its actually called, but i liked how the art painted on the blocks moved together with the blocks moving at the same time, that was a cool effct. "The box" stuck out at me cause of the artist interaction. I really liked that feature. I found it really funny cause, we all know that wasn't really the co dude, it was stunt double. He made little grunts and noises, that was silly. Then when the creation he made went into the box, the creator just smiled or something, and went, 'ha you fell for trap'. atleast that's what should have happened. I would love to take his work and dub over it with different voices, that would be a real kick.

Gotta love that kid on right side. The last film we 'got the opportunity' to stay for was called 'the sniffing bear' i think. now i know i probably missed the whole point of the film, and im naive and all that, but i want what that bear was sniffing, it like made him high and junk, honestly who wouldnt? fighting off wolves, sea lions, birds, the works. fun for the whole family. i first thought the red 'mysterious' box, was gasoline, i still dunno what it was, but later on you saw the skull on it, so it had to be like hot chocolate from an eskimo that used to stay in the igloo. The hoedeman guy is good at what he does. He has variety, i haven't seen all his films yet, but from what we saw that nite, he brings something new and totally different in all his films. i admired him on that part, cause there's people that find something their good at and only stick to 'that', and dont' evolve or push themsevles to grow. i think came across ignorant, no offense to the pple that loved it, just not my cup of tea yo.

When we were talking in class about all the philosophies and weird junk behind the story of narnia, it was brought up that the newest movie didn't do the trick. I agree with that. some of us are still kids at heart and all that gay stuff, otherwise a few of us wouldn't be in this field to begin with, but i kinda thought mabye if we were five years old again the movie would have been better. but in my mind it's hard to beat the classics. i've read most of the books for various book reports etc, but i remember when i first saw the animation, i thought it was the coolest thing ever. Id watch it a bunch of times and so on, that really captured it for me.

Chronicles of Narnia

no clue if the above image is the right animation , if so it's just the revised title front for the new dvd. we were kids when we saw it, so it might just downright suck now, but i stilled liked it for it's time and how old i was. when i got older i saw the live versions of some the vhs's. Those were nuts, corny, but still liked em. I guess with the new version that's out, and i think i heard there making the rest later on, oh joy. but it's just hard to beat the originals and junk, example: star wars, charlie and chocolate factory, etc... oh and if you've been living under a rock, go out and buy paris hilton's 'Paris' cd, featuring 'stars are blind' dance paris, treat t-ravis barker right.

Colour: Feel this way

It was mentioned in class the other week, briefly about colors. Now im not trying to be different or cool but i really hate when people tag feelings and emotions with colors. I had an old art teacher once who faithly followed how the colors should make you feel, and half of his stuff did not effect or hit me the way it said. Everybody's got their own opinion on what the color makes them feel, i don't believe there should be a set spectrum to emotions, its just not that simple. Of course some colors you could figure out in a few guesses what they wanted to say or anything. here is an interior designer dude's opinion to what the color blue is about:
"Blue, the color of sky and water, creates fresh, cool, and restful feelings. Blue walls can make a south- or west-facing room feel cooler. Because it "recedes," blue also creates the illustion of space and distance, conjuring up emotions of haughtiness, formality, reserve, and sadness.

In spite of evoking such contradictory reactions, blue is a favorite because it is easy on the eyes and the nerves, making it an excellent choice for rooms where you want to relax or sleep."

there's your resource junk, so i didnt steal it author man.

go ahead disagree, i just made a blog, so there.

JetPack Broom Chaser: Super cool short film. I'm not into much of the short films and everything, but i have only seen a few other films that are like this one. The effects were pretty cool too, it might not be perfect, but i don't really look for perfection. What got me the whole time was the whole atmosphere and architecture. They were neato. I'd kill to have a fight scene or something on that. Each scene had some new form of the building and such to make it sweet for the chase and fight scenes. The sound effx fit well too. I'd really like to know where they shot the whole film, cause it looked a tad futuristic/factory building. But jumping on the brooms would be fun too, to get the shots and all. You could make a hot ninja movie with that in your backyard. I liked how they got the wheelchair dude to fly up in the air, all tangled and stuff. Plus the superman part was a great addition, just throwing it at you, gotta love it. even though i'm not superman fan. I didn't even know what the thing they were al fighting over was, but it didn't really matter too much, cause the film did fine without the knowledge of it. I hope we see more of stuff like this in class.

Garbage Man

I liked how non chalante they were about the whole swift moves of mr. neat. little things like dodging the water hose and catching the news paper. The main character fit pretty well i guess. the sound effx were hot too in the eating part. you could feel the fat ingulging in their systems. It was super predictable, but it didn't matter at all. It was still entertaining to where you knew what was gonna happen, but then they would throw a little extra in. Like with the little baby and the mom, you knew it was gonna upchuck, but then they go the extra mile and have the dude have a load of it in his mouth. tastes good. I also liked the part where the banana fell off his head, nice touch and props to the pple who did it. Especially considering they only had a few days to shoot and work the whole thing. Im not really into that stuff, but i still respect it. The ending flashes suicide to me for a first glance, but it didn't really stay there, and the baptism thing too, seemed to fit more. But honestly, the guy was dirty, give him in a break.

DAFT PUNK: Around the World

In class, we were shown some music videos and such. The one that we watched was the chemical brothers one. I'm not a chemical brothers fan, so i didn't really feel the video much. However, there is one song that caught my eye, which was the daft punk video. I'm a huge fan of these guys, their pure geniuses. But getting back on track....
The 'around the world' music video is really cool, it's nothing amazing with special effects. It mostly concerns weird pple in costumes moving around awkwardly. It flows really well with the music. I'm pretty sure you can view it on yahoo music video stuff, or if ya have a mac, just youtube it. It might not be super artistic, or have a deep meaning, but i dont' believe you need that to create something cool. Of course, some pple would find some gay meaning behind it or such. I just take it as it is, and enjoy it because i love that music. Btw, their latest album 'human after all', was not a flop like a ton of pple thought so. It just had some tracks that were purely repetitious (like techno is), but there's 5 tracks off that one that are golden. Welcome to a super bias daft punk fan, but it pretty hard to top 'discovery'. If ya get a chance, see these dudes live, it's like an electronic rave drug for your cells. Do yourself a favor and see em.

Yo, i'm Noah...i dance when i want to. I'm into music, anime, and glitches.
